Jay Owen Eisenberg

Jay Owen Eisenberg is a queer & transgender actor, writer, and illustrator based in Minneapolis by way of New York City. In the Twin Cities, Jay is a frequent collaborator with Mixed Blood Theatre, where he serves on the Board of the Directors and works as an actor and transgender community organizer. He is currently a Teaching Artist in Residence at the Guthrie Theater, and a guest Teaching Artist with Children's Theater Company and Pillsbury House + Theatre. In addition to teaching acting classes, Jay works with theaters and theater training programs to help infuse their programming & curriculums with more inclusive policies for transgender and gender variant artists and students.

Jay is the recipient of a 2017 Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant, with which he'll be devising and presenting BIG OLD ROCK. Jay will also be working with Children’s Theater Company to create a show about gender & sexuality with a group of high school students, premiering in Fall 2017.

He is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Experimental Theater Wing (BFA, Drama), and a member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA. Jay has been told that his laughter sounds like "an entire farm."
