Join us on Thursday, April 19th for Give OUT Day, and help Patrick’s Cabaret cross the sparkly finish line of our sunset season!
Did you know...we’re queer? LIKE REALLY QUEER! And we have been since the beginning. Not exclusively, of course, we’re into finding all the ways our lives intersect. But we’ve spent 32 years proclaiming who we are, loud and proud. Three decades inviting everyone to claim some space under our rainbow. And that’s pretty dang queer.
Support our Sunset Season on Give OUT Day
Thursday, April 19th is Give OUT Day, the ONLY national day of giving for the LGBTQ community. This 24-hour online fundraising event started in 2013, and since then over 33,000 individual donors have contributed more than $4 million and supported more than 600 different organizations in every part of the country. According to a report from Access Philanthropy, “The Future of Funding: A Brief Look at LBGTQ Funding in Minnesota,” Minnesota falls significantly behind in funding for the LGBTQ community and in particular for LGBTQ arts organizations.
As part of our Sunset Season, Patrick’s Cabaret is raising $11,000 before June to support our full lineup of spring programming serving over 250 artists--in just the first half of the year! Our ambitious Spring Season includes four Mainstage Cabarets, 5 Artist Education Workshops, two residency programs, and a series of Community Roundtables.
Support our Legacy on Give OUT Day
But that’s not all--we’re also doing the work to ensure Patrick’s Cabaret’s legacy lives on. If fundraising exceeds our organization’s needs, we will be able to re-grant the remaining balance to mission-aligned organizations who have agreed to take on Patrick’s Cabaret’s programming, such as 20% Theater, which has agreed to adopt our annual event “Controlled Burn: queer performance for a world on fire” that features 18 acts of new, radical queer performance.
As a key tool to ensure our legacy is remembered, we are publishing Out on the Edge: three decades of Patrick’s Cabaret, a retrospective book commemorating our vital history, combining material from deep in our archives and the personal reflections of people close to the Cabaret. Make sure to make your gift by April 25th to be included in our legacy book!
In recognition of that final act of generosity, we will honor everyone who makes a gift in 2018 as a Legacy Donor, with special benefits at different levels:
