Program Assistant

 

Job Description

 

Reports to: Executive Artistic Director

Employment status: Part-time permanent (non-exempt)

Compensation: $19.00/hour, approximately 10 hours/week, plus paid time off

Supervises: n/a

 

Overview

The Program Assistant will assist with implementing and communicating about programs serving artists  for Patrick’s Cabaret. This position will be focused on digital and print communications, activity and audience tracking through database practices, and support for programs with a focus on Teaching Artist Residencies.

 

Goals

  1. Coordinate programmatic activity including the Teaching Artist Residency Program.
  2. Create and manage compelling communications materials that harness and grow the power of our grassroots community.
  3. Manage statistical activity tracking, database, and administrative operations.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 Program Coordination (estimated average 5 hrs per week)

  • Assist with call for, hiring, and contracting of Teaching Artists, Workshop Facilitators, and Curators
  • Create and distribute program communications (newsletters, calls for proposals, artist packets, etc)
  • Serve as additional staff support for designated program events, especially Teaching Artist Residencies

 Communications (estimated average 3 hrs per week)

  • Work in collaboration with other staff to effectively utilize communications channels and implement communications plans for website, emails, printed matter, and social/new media
  • Create internal and external communications, including programs, advanced artist tickets, and postcards, as requested

 Administrative Management (estimated average 1 hr per week)

  • Track audience attendance and demographics in organizational database
  • Track donations and donor information in organizational database
  • Collaborate with staff, consultants, Board, partner companies, and performers to gather stories and statistics that demonstrate the organization’s work to funders and the general public 
  • Strengthen data-capture and database practices to reach appropriate audiences
  • Assist with administration of fundraising campaigns including solicitation mailings, online events, and special events.

 Community & Field Leadership (estimated average 1 hr per week)

  • Contribute to maintaining a climate that attracts, keeps, and motivates a diverse staff of top quality people

Patrick’s Cabaret

Ambassador

Job Description

 

Reports to: Executive Artistic Director

Employment status: Independent Contractor

Compensation: $100/month for six months, approximately 2-4 hours/week, plus free tickets to Patrick’s Cabaret and aligned performances ($168 value), and artist tickets to sell directly to audiences for Patrick’s Cabaret shows ($200 value, Ambassador retains all money earned by selling these tickets)

Supervises: none

 

Overview

The Ambassador Program is a new initiative to bring together a cohort of 5 arts enthusiasts who represent the communities we serve to support and increase support for Patrick’s Cabaret and aligned artists by promoting Patrick’s Cabaret shows, attending allied community events, and representing Patrick’s Cabaret’s mission and vision in the community.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Attend an orientation with fellow ambassadors to learn organizational history, mission, vision, and talking points, as well as a season overview. Strategize about this work.
  • Attend and represent Patrick’s Cabaret at all Patrick’s Cabaret performances in the season, including 4 Cabarets. Residency showcases and special events may also be included.
  • Attend up to six non-Patrick’s Cabaret community events/performances per season (tickets paid for by Patrick’s Cabaret) and complete brief surveys after each reporting on artists we should know, prospective audience members to reach out to, and reflections on mission/vision alignment.
  • Attend and represent Patrick’s Cabaret at 1-2 community outreach events in the season.



Qualifications

 

This position would be ideal for a working artist, a frequent patron of the arts, and/or a passionate supporter of Patrick’s Cabaret. Qualifications include:

  • Familiarity with Patrick’s Cabaret’s programming and history.
  • Personal investment in the success of Patrick’s Cabaret as a platform for experimentation and risk-taking.
  • Alignment with Patrick’s Cabaret’s mission and vision
  • Strong existing and emerging connections to other mission-aligned individuals and institutions
  • Availability to attend performances on evenings and weekends.
  • Passion for forging connections, networking, and creative collaboration.
