Aliveness Live

Patrick’s Cabaret and the Aliveness Project, a nonprofit community center for people living with HIV, culminate a year-long residency with a final performance at the Pillsbury House Theater. Aliveness Project Members have spent the last year working with Teaching Artists drawn from Patrick’s Cabaret’s vast network of artists to develop and refine their ability to tell stories about their own lives. This special afternoon event, free to Aliveness Project Members, brings together Teaching Artists and Aliveness Project Members for readings and performances about resilience and healing.

Anything but English

Now in its third iteration, “Anything But English” is a multilingual cabaret about mother tongues, global appetites, and the ways we are lost and found in translation. This series has already presented 46 artists speaking 13 different languages. For a second year we partner with Pangea World Theater for this production curated by Margaret Ogas.

CabarABLE

CabarABLE is Patrick's Cabaret's annual show featuring artists with disabilities, and 2017 will mark the fourth year we will have hosted this event. Previous years' themes included "Love," "Work," and "Rights/Responsibilities." This year's show is all about embracing the weird and awkward moments of our disabilities and in our lives. How do we understand being weird as a good thing? How can we create a more inclusive world?

Anything But English

Pangea World Theater co-present’s Patrick’s Cabaret’s "Anything but English" – a multilingual cabaret featuring artists whose native language is “Anything but English." On the surface, language is a tool that helps us communicate and think. But language can also pull forth memories, sentiment, and sometimes discomfort. In this multilingual cabaret, we invite performers to explore what happens in a multilingual space where the connections formed between people are forced to move beyond mere words.

Lightning Rod

Socially engaged performance created and performed in a single week—THEATER in a FLASH!

“An artist is a lightning rod, and has a responsibility to catch that electricity in the air...to listen to the world and provide opportunities for reflection, perspective, catharsis, resistance. This is our protest.” - Guest Producer Kat Purcell

BlackQueerInk

Come join us for a TWO NIGHT event! A super ensemble of black queer magic!

Be in the room as we cultivate volume in black literature that celebrates black queer life. This event is a collaboration between BlackTableArts and Patrick's Cabaret, and will take place at the Phoenix Theater in South Minneapolis. You will hear from eight brilliant black queer writers. We invite you to participate in an evening of conjuring and creation as we travel with these poets to other worlds in black time and space.
